Backup Care Updates: May 2009

Dear Colleague:

As a registered user of the backup care program, we would like to make you aware of an important update to the program.

To date, the University has partnered with Work Options Group to provide you with backup care. We are pleased to announce that Work Options Group has recently merged with Bright Horizons Family Solutions. Both Work Options Group and Bright Horizons are pioneers in the backup care field, so through this partnership Columbia will receive even greater access to quality backup care.

As Bright Horizons and Work Options Group integrate their programs and systems, they are committed to making the process as seamless as possible for you. Most importantly, you will continue to be supported by the same backup care specialists and will register and reserve care through the same process, via phone at 800.557.0847 or online at:

As with any integration, there will be small changes and adjustments made to the program and network over time. For instance, soon you will notice that email communications from your care specialists regarding reservations will come from new email addresses.

We also want to remind you that your current bank of backup care hours will expire June 30, 2009, with your new bank of hours starting July 1, 2009.
