Forming a Family: Legal Planning for LGBT New Yorkers

On Thursday, November 15, 2012 the Office of Work/Life hosted a workshop on Legal Planning for LGBT New Yorkers.

This workshop addressed questions about forming a family, with a special focus on adoption, second-parent adoptions and known donor agreements, and protecting your partner/spouse through proper planning especially wills, proxies, and filing taxes.

Presenters where Evita Nancy Torre, adoption attorney at Greenberg Adoption: The Law Offices of Clifford L. Greenberg, co-host for the monthly Family Law Clinic at the LGBT Center and writer for a legal column It's Conceivable Now: LGBT Parenting in New York, and Wendy Fitzsimons an estate and tax lawyer, and  partner at Romer Debbas, LLP, which is a proud member of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce of New York.
