Exploring Child Care Options

Options available for child care (at home, family day care, center based care, nursery school, pre-school, universal pre-K) will be discussed. The presentation includes information about the admissions processes, timelines and financial aid as well as the services provided by the School and Child Care Search Service. There will be time for questions and answers during and after the presentation.

Breastfeeding Matters

"Breastfeeding Matters" is an educational workshop for expectant and new mothers who are preparing to breastfeed their babies when they return to work or school.  Participants will learn breastfeeding basics, common difficulties and how to manage them, and return-to-work/school strategies and resources. 

There is no charge for this workshop.  The workshop is open to anyone who goes to school or works at Columbia University plus spouses/partners.  Beverages and light snacks will be provided.

The session will also introduce greater NY metropolitan area independent schools admissions processes, time lines, testing and financial aid. Parochial school options as well as the services provided by the School and Child Care Search Service will be covered and there will be time for questions and answers.

College Planning Information Session

This session will provide information about choosing, applying to and financing a college education for your child.  The session will also offer a perspective on what college admissions officers consider when reading applications.  In addition, questions about early decision/early action and standardized testing will be addressed. This session is intended for parents of 9, 10, and 11 graders. There will be time for questions and answers.
