Student-made Guide Aims to Simplify High School Admissions

To get a simplified multimedia guide about public high school choice created by six high school students, visit their new website: Old School New School.  The students worked with the Resilience Advocacy Project, a youth organization, teaching artist Douglas Paulson, and the Center for Urban Pedagogy, a non-profit that combines art with civic education.
They also interviewed Insideschools staff to see what they look for on school visits.

The students who worked on the guide stressed the fact that the city's hight school directory is published before schools get their budgets for the following year, so programs listed sometimes cease to exist by the time students actually enroll.  And they said students should visit every school on the list to avoid surprises.
