Helping Your Teenager through the COVID-19 Era – What to Expect

October 26, 2020
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
America/New_York
Online
During these abnormal times, it can be difficult for parents to understand if their teenagers are responding normally or if they are struggling. Because of the restrictions placed on all of us, most teens are socializing less, spending more time on electronics, and are less engaged in academic work and extracurricular activities. In this workshop, clinicians who specialize in working with teenagers will provide insights into typical and expected behavior patterns of teens during the pandemic, and will discuss how to distinguish these normal behaviors from “red flag” behaviors that may require further attention. We will also review strategies for supporting your teen during these times. There will be an opportunity for a Q&A at the end of the session. Presenter from the Columbia University Clinic for Anxiety & Related Disorders (CUCARD).
