Aging Support Network

If you or a member of your family has principal responsibility for the care and support of an aging family member, you might find the Aging Support Network of EPIC, the retirement association of Columbia faculty and other officers, a useful resource.  It is an information‑sharing forum where members can exchange experiences and recommendations related to aging and caregiving. Topics may include, for example:

  • Recommendations for reliable home health aide agencies in Manhattan, Westchester, Northern New Jersey, or other regions
  • Experiences hiring private or live‑in caregivers
  • Interest in joining caregiver or peer support groups
  • Referrals for skilled in‑home physical or occupational therapists
  • Guidance on senior living or continuing care communities, including cost ranges and levels of care

How the Network Works

While the Aging Support Network operates through a private Google Group for retired Columbia University faculty and administrators, it is open to active Columbia faculty and administrators as well.  The group exists to allow members to share their knowledge and experience as a resource to others, and to provide a place where members can seek information or support when facing aging related challenges themselves.
