Andrew Barber

Andrew Barber is the Assistant Director, Office of Work/Life K–12 School Search and The School at Columbia High School Placement at Columbia University. With extensive experience and expertise,  Andrew guides families through the complex K–12 application and admissions process. Prior to joining Columbia, Andrew served as Director of Placement and Director of Academic Preparation at The TEAK Fellowship.

Andrew earned his B.A. in Classical Languages from Carleton College and an M.S.Ed. in School Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. A native New Yorker and parent of two children who have navigated the school application process themselves, Andrew brings both professional expertise and personal understanding to his work. He values a collaborative, empathetic approach and is committed to helping families find schools where their children will thrive. 

Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with his wife and children, spending time in upstate New York, and exploring the city he has always called home.
