Self-Care Options for Sleep (SOS)

In this one-hour virtual workshop, you will learn about a variety of self-care practices to optimize your sleep. The virtual “tour” will include evidence-based complimentary & integrative health therapies such as: Mindful Breathing, Letting Go Techniques, Body Awareness, Acupressure, Tapping, Aromatherapy, Self-hypnosis and Self-massage. This overview and introduction will be followed by a survey to gauge your interest in learning more about these  self-care practices for sleep that may be used for future programming.

Presenters: Melanie A. Gold, DO, DABMA, DMQ is a Special Lecturer and former Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Child and Adolescent Health at CUIMC as well as a current Special Lecturer and former Professor in the Department of Population & Family Health at the Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Gold is a co-investigator on a NIH-funded study whose aim is to develop and test the efficacy of a mind-body integrative health sleep intervention to improve sleep quality and over the past three decades she has enhanced her patients’ access to integrative medicine by developing clinical skills in a variety of modalities.  

Michelle Bombacie- Michelle Bombacie is the Program Manager for the Integrative Therapies Program within the Center for Comprehensive Wellness. She is a licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist, and is the lead acupuncture and integrative medicine supervisor in the pediatric clinic. In addition to her role at the Center for Comprehensive Wellness, Michelle leads a robust wellness initiative for the staff at CUIMC.
