Employee Reduced Rate for Columbia’s Summer Pre-College Programs

Dependent children of full-time regular faculty and staff may be eligible to participate in Columbia’s New York City and Online Summer Pre-College programs at a 50 percent reduced rate.

The programs are designed to provide an immersive college experience to high-achieving high school students, Grades 9-12, through a combination of rigorous academic instruction and enriching co-curricular activities, including college-preparedness workshops. 

FEATURED CLASS - Columbia Writing Academy: Writing the College Admissions Essay

Because colleges are placing more emphasis on the admissions essay, prize-winning author Dr. Nancy Sommers and Columbia University have designed this course to help students write a powerful college essay by honing specific writing skills. Through a combination of workshops and tutorials, students will learn new writing techniques and will receive in-depth feedback from the teaching team throughout the process.

Online (reduced rate)

Session 1 (2-week):  July 3–14, 2023  -  $1,980.00

Session 2 (2-week):  July 17–28, 2023  -  $1,980.00

Session 3 (1-week):  August 7–11, 2023  -  $1,405.00

Please work with your child to complete the Columbia University Affiliation section of the application located under Additional Information. It will ask the student to indicate their status as a dependent of a Columbia University employee, and then space will be provided for you to confirm your employment status.
